With this, we begin the search for a suitable hospitality destination for this beautifully situated property on the estate of Het Oude Slot in Heemstede.
Het Oude Slot boasts impressive origins dating back to 1280. Various historical elements are still present today, such as the Vredesbrug (Peace Bridge) from 1648, the 'Duivenpoort' (Dove Gate), the 'Tecklenburgse Poortje' (Tecklenburg Gate), and the stone gateway with heraldic crests.
The adjacent Bouwhuis (Building House) will be repurposed for social use in 2026 and will most likely house a daycare center. The municipality of Heemstede prefers to lease the Tea House commercially to a reliable hospitality operator who wants to offer a (light) hospitality facility and is interested in organizing ceremonial weddings at De Duivenpoort. It is also essential that the estate remains as publicly accessible as possible for residents and visitors of Heemstede.
Therefore, we invite you to submit initiatives that meet the stated conditions and principles, as further explained in the brochure and the application form.
