'The One' was constructed in 2010 and comprises in total approximately 28,700 sq. m. office and retail space. The building was originally developed for the 2 anchor tenants Hema Nederland and VNU Media (currently known as De Persgroep). In order to give the 2 main tenants their own identity within the building, a large passage is created through the middle of the building. The office and retail space is divided over the ground floor up to the seventh floor and a 3 layer parking garage underneath the building.

The ground floor has been renovated and transformed into a modern, multifunctional area with facilities for all tenants in the building, such as a coffeebar, flexible working spaces, a meeting room and a gym. Furthermore the office floors have been equipped with new suspended ceilings including high-quality LED-lighting.

A public ferry is located at 4 minutes walking distance and provides direct connection from the NDSM to the Houthavens and Amsterdam Central Station. Furthermore 'The One' is accessible by bus via the bus lines 391 and 394.
